6/10/13: Charity!!!

What a fantastic week this has been! Seriously, We've had so many cool opportunities to serve and work. It's been awesome.

First off my recent convert Jaime called us to let us know someone Sister Ipson and I had once street-contacted in her moms trailer park--an awesome lady named Crystal--just lost her 40year-old son. That boy was SO cute! So we went by and offered our condolences and it was really sweet. Crystal was the most amazingly selfless person, it was like she was conforting us!

Then we met a cool kid in our apartment complex named Kyle. He's a super logical thinker and doesn't currently believe in God although he's tried. But he listens to us and asks us questions and it's really cool!

Then President called, and Sister Hatch almost had a heart attack. She's been waiting for info on her visa to Argentina, so we thought this was the 'pack your bags' call. But nope! President asked us to work at the Family History booth at Polish Fest! how fun will that be?!?! In case you didn't know, Milwaukee is the City of Festivals, and the biggest music festival in the US is Summer Fest in just a few weeks. Milwaukee also has strong Polish and German roots, so there's those Fests, then then all kinds of other ones. We're really excited!

We taught some nuns. They were super nice and awesome.

Then the mission office called us! Sister Shumway asked us if we had time to visit a family in the hospital and we couldn't turn that down! The Lindays are from Rexburg, but Mark is a truck driver and came down with a horrible infection out here. His family came out to see him, but they've all left now except for soon-to-be Sister Lindsay. She's our best friend, and just like Crystal, she often seems to be strengthening us more than we're strengthening her! She's incredible though. Mark's condition is deteriorating in the ICU--pray for him!!

We went to New Missionary Meeting for Sister Milligan and it was quite enjoyable! But on the way back the Funbus broke down and we were scrambling to make it to our appointments on time in the first place. Lots of reworking scheduling and lots of faith on the ride, we managed to take the Funbus back home on a blown transmission and make it to our appointments :) Danielle works as a volunteer at the hospital and she's awesome! We got to teach her and it was really, really cool. But she's going to have to be passed to YSA. . .

Saturdays are the best day ever. If we don't have appointments to get to, we just go outside and walk and follow the rummage sale signs. We met some awesome people this week doing that. It's really fun, too!

Then we called President because Sister Hatch would really like to go to the temple before she leaves and we asked if she and Sister Milligan could go sometime in the next two weeks (I can't because I already went) and President was like, "I wouldn't normally tell you this until later, but you're leaving next Monday." So hopefully they'll be able to go to the Chicago temple on Wednesday and I'll have some fun on exchanges :)

We're going to miss Sister Hatch so much! Our trio makes like a PERFECT missionary, because we all have different skills that are necessary for the job. So either Sister Milligan or I are going to have to step up and start hugging everyone we meet, because that's been Sister Hatch's job. And it works miracles!

We got permission to teach Michelle, who we met at a popcorn stand. She lives just barely out of our area. But she's fantastic! Can't wait!

We visit Sister Lindsay pretty much every single day. I love her!
Sunday we went to the family history library and learned how to do family history so we can help people out at the booth on Friday...much needed. Hopefully we'll be good for something :)

President Dallin H Oaks is coming soon! He's one of my favorites! I can't wait to hear him talk about missionary work :)

Love you guys! Give of your time for simple little things. You'll feel better and so will the people you serve. It may not seem like much but it could be the world to them :)
