5/28/13: West Allis Trio!

Trios are a PARTY. I had experienced this briefly with Hna Seeley but now it's in full. I think I lose most of my calories from laughing. I try to keep things under control though and we're still doing our work everywhere we go :)

We got a phone this week. No phone=longest week ever. I'm so grateful for technology!

We did some awesome work committing LAs to return to church. We set a date for coming back with one of our favorite sisters, Sister King :) She has been wonderful to us in providing us with shopping transportation and now she's going to start coming back! It was so fantastic to talk to her.

We also met an awesome guy in a dentists office. Sometimes it can be a good thing that your companion always has to go to the bathroom.

We are hoping to start working with Danielle soon. She volunteers at the hospital we're going to be volunteering at soon. She's the coolest but we haven't seen her in a while. But we will soon!

Roleplays are SO worth it. Just do them. For everything. They really work and boost your confidence. I love them :)

It was funny because we tried to visit an inactive woman a few days ago and her son answered the door and was like "Funny, I just met two other sisters (the YSA sisters, Sis Case and Sis Ipson) yesterday. And now you're here." And he was super chill and fun and awesome and committed to come to church next week! Even if it is to YSA...*grumble*theytakeallourinvestigators*grumble*. Haha, but we love the YSA sisters so it's good.

We had exchanges this week and for the first time I got to work in an area with a car! In YSA with Sis Case. It was a lot of fun and we met some awesome people and extended three baptismal dates! Then I got back to my area and Sis Ipson had been using my companions to meet more YSA-aged people...........
...........

We were really hoping to get the referral off our lists that had been there for like three weeks so we finally went and met her daughter and set up an appointment and were so excited we didn't have any more referrals and then our dinner appointment gave us one.......haha

Here they call garage sales 'rummage sales'. They have lots of them. And they're a fantastic place to meet people, muahahaha
Some lady was selling her boyfriend's star wars collection. I wish you were here, Dad.

On Sunday we had set that we wanted to have 3 lessons with people and we only had one and so we kept on knocking until we got another one. Then right outside our apt we walked up to a popcorn stand to get our last prayer and ended up teaching the woman there for like an hour. She read the intro to the BoM and it felt like the whole world fell into place. She said "I know it's true. Just holding it I feel that it's true. It seems familiar...like I've heard this all somewhere before." She was amazing. She's just barely out of our area so we have her info to the Mukego Lakes elders and hopefully they'll be able to reach her. She was so AWESOME. (The Mukego elders almost started crying on the phone they were so excited. They'd been praying and fasting for something like this!)

Lesson: when you set goals do all you can to REACH THEM! There is always a reason you set them at what you did.

I was feeling really out of it most of the week so I read For Times of Trouble by Holland and the book of Moroni and that's all you really need to get back on your feet :) Have I ever mentioned how much I love Holland?

It's been an exhausting past few weeks. But it looks like we have some people to work with coming up. I really want to find a solid investigator. I know they're out there!!

The church is true. Sometimes when you feel discouraged just remember that you don't have anything to fear from people who are seeking the truth--because you really do have it! The Spirit will do the rest.

Come to the mountain of the Lord!
Come with your banner, shield, and sword!
Shine like a light upon a hill--
The ancient promise is fulfilled.

Come to the mountain of the Lord!
Bring every soul in all the world!
To feel the power of truth restored,
Come to the mountain of the Lord.

Sister Neal
