I
don't know if missionaries are allowed to do this, but I told one of
our investigators that she needs to dump her numbskull boyfriend. By the
time we left she was grinning from ear to ear :D
[I've actually done that a lot...some things never change]
I've
been meeting the investigators here in Sturg! There are so many it's
probably going to take another couple of week before I meet them
all...haha. I've been blown away by how down-to-earth, prepared these
people are. Real, normal families in many cases! A bunch of weird ones
as always, but even a lot of those seem to be well prepared. Wisconsin
is the home of everyone who is on welfare or disability, and it's really
hard to find kingdom-building individuals. Or families. But there is
such great potential here!!
Sam, Crystal, and Brandy are awesome. And Andy and Jill. And
Melissa, and Hilario and Arendida. Sometimes I really wish I'd payed
more attention to Spanish my whole life.
The LARCs are also
awesome. everyone is just awesome! The investigators come to church,
the recent converts stay active and go to the temple, the less actives
are excited to learn again. Life is just good here.
Miracle: Nick came to church. No one knew who he was. Just a
dude. Apparently he met the sisters here before us while playing hacky
sack. They gave him a BoM and he said he's been reading it and the Bible
lately and just has been absorbed. and the BoM rings truer than the
Bible to him.
We found a teaching record for him in our area book. He had been
taught the restoration then texted the sisters and said "I'm not
interested at this time." But now he's totes back!! I am excited to see
what happens, even though he refused to give us an address or phone
number. Hopefully he'll be back next Sunday.
We only had like 3 investigators at church, but there were
another three or four that were in the hospital/on vacation. They should
be able to make it next week. I'm astounded that everyone here just
comes to church on their own! That never happens.
We had Zone Conference this week! I love meetings. I don't know why.
But I love them. I particularly loved getting to see all the
missionaries in GB again! I got like a hundred and one "Sister Neal!
Welcome back!" comments. It's soooo good to see peeps I love :)
We celebrated Valentine's Day with a LA, Christina, and she
bought us slippers and chocolate and we ate pizza and watched Legacy. It
was so much fun. She's the best girl ever! Seriously. Everyone here is
just so cool.
I got to go back to GB for Kim and Maddie's baptism!! I can't
believe they're baptized--it happened so fast. But it was great to see
all my favorite people from GB2 again!! Then we went with the Bakers
(senior couple) to see Arendida and Hilario and they have SO much
promise!! I just keep getting blown away.
Sturgeon Bay has sweet snow and ice sculptures. we went finding while we looked at them :)
