11/18/13: [No Subject]

It's always a good time in Green Bay :)
First off: we had some fun with the mission president and all mentioned something about Luke 1:57 in our emails to him a few weeks ago as a way to let him and his wife know that their daughter Elizabeth is pregnant. This also happened in the Tokyo Japan mission because the mission president there is the other set of parents in the family.
So Elder Brooksby the Younger and I live in a REALLY small world! Crazy.
This week I bought some new skirts which always makes a week good because out in the mission field, we get really sick of our own clothes :)
We also survived a minor car crash. again. She was super nice and we might just end up teaching her :P
We recontacted our awesome investigator Kim who dropped off the face of the earth for a while. She is going through hard times :'( But fortunately she has the church to help her find happiness!!! We just have to convince her of that :)

We had to do the demonstrative roleplay at zone conference this week which was a major point of stress for both of us, but it went really well!!! Then I went on an exchange to Marquette Michigan and  there's snow on the ground there!!! NOOO!!!! Well, it was only a tiny tiny bit, but still.
We had a blast in Marquette. I got to hold a bearded dragon at a children's museum. partay :) we also had a lot of fun tracting and pretending like we knew what we were talking about at correlation since I just got there that day and the sister I was with was a new missionary of about a week. She's gonna be a great missionary :)
Then Sister Newton and I napped a lot over the next several days. Neeeddddd sleeeeeeppppppp
We accidentally took our 24-year-old investigators to a single adult fireside (not 'young') but it ended up being super spiritual and awesome!!! And we had three investigators at church which was great because it was the Primary Program. Sooooo cute :)
Funny stories: My companion reminds our ward mission leader of his wife's old college roommate Janae. He never told us that, but his wife told us that he says it all the time. So Sister Newton walked up to him (they're expecting their fifth child) and said "I was thinking...you should name your next child after me."
and he said, "Oh really?"
and she was like, "Yeah. You should name her Janae."
And he said, "Wait, your name is Janae??" and freaked out. It was super funny. Her name is not actually Janae :)
Our mission office also gave us all CD copies of a talk called "The missionary next door" by Diana Hasler Hoelscher. It's SUPER good, and super funny :) All families need to listen to it. Seriously. Her dad is in our mission presidency, so I kinda can't wait to meet him :)
She is talking about a guy her sister met at a dance that is actually a hard-core partier and telling her parents about how she's sorry she let it go on and says "Look, I know we've brought some really, really wicked people into this church[uh...?], but this guy, this guy is like nothing you've ever seen!"
Her parents say "Now Diana, he is a child of God and the church is for everyone [blah blah blah]"
She says "You need to listen to me!! Your child's gonna be a teenage statistic!"
And so on. By the way, he got baptized and served a mission and got married in the temple :)
This is the good life. I think I've hit my stride as a missionary sometime in the past month. I finally feel like I know what I'm doing and how to be a successful missionary and everything. I'm just comfortable. It might also just be because I'm so comfortable in this area, though. We'll see what happens when I get transferred :P (No Christmas packages, except to the mission office. I'm gettin transferred on Dec18th! Pretty much guaranteed)
Love,
Sister Neal
