Hey
all! Hope you had a delicious Thanksgiving! We certainly did! And I
didn't even stuff myself, or eat dessert, which makes me quite proud :)
Although I wish I had some leftovers...
We ate at the Wilmotts, with the English Elders, the Hmong
Elders, and Quentin, and one other lady from the ward. We played
Cranium. The food was amazing :) Christmas lights are up! I LOVE them!
People go so all out for the holidays here! It's awesome :)
Thursday
was weekly planning and Thanksgiving. Not much else. It was an awesome
day, though :) We made some fun demos for whatever we could come up with
since we figured no one outside really wanted to talk to us. Plus,
everyone loves visuals!
Friday we
played vball--for the first time, Quentin didn't come :( He hadn't
talked to us all day, which is really weird for him.
Saturday
we did SERVICE. At the Railroad museum!!!! They are now doing the Polar
Express and it was AWESOME! I really wish I remember that movie. It was
SO fun. And we didn't even get to go on the train. Just the pre-show
stuff was awesome. no wonder it was sold out in like June. We're totally
doing it again next week :) Plus Sister Dresang was there (not a
member, but will be someday), Bro Grant was dancing in his conductor
uniform, a girl named Garla has a Mormon sister, some guy named Chris
had met with the Elders before and loved it. It's just Potential
central. We'll take pictures this next time :)
Sunday Quentin
came to church, but he was super reserved and seemed kinda really bitter
about something. We were fasting for him. Seems like a lot of it is
mostly not church related--just a really bad week. But he doesn't talk
to much about it, so it's hard to tell!! Poor kid :(
Kim's like
downright depressed right now. I don't know how to fix depression, geez!
And Chad didn't come to church, but I'm sure he has a good excuse. He's
pretty good about things like that. We met Priscilla and Michelle on
the exchange and they said they were coming to church, but they were in
the hospital for something...great. Satan works in too many ridiculous
ways.
I was feeling
sick Sunday night and we almost didn't go out because we didn't have any
appointments but I remembered a lady in our ward saying how on her
mission her and her companion would get sick every time they stepped
outside, and that was how Stan prevented them from working, so I decided
that we should go out anyway and try to contact some people, and it was
hugely successful! Almost everyone was home! And it was amazing. Still
felt sick through it all, but I'm so glad we did it :)
Besides, it
involved CAROLING! We sang our Ward Mission Leader and his wife our
rendition of "Jingle Bells" while we delivered them chocolate because
Sister Newton's mom sent wayyy too much of it. It was hilarious :):)
A
bunch of other stuff happened too, but I can't remember because I
didn't bring my planner. You know. Short-term memory loss over here. But
it was a good week! A lot of personal preparation because I know
changes are coming, and not gonna lie I'm just a bit nervous for them 8/
These last few transfers have just been so wonderful...I'm nervous
about going back to not-extremely-blessed areas and companions and
investigators. I know we'll be blessed, but I have a feeling it's gonna
be hard.
As President
Cutler told us: "If you get transferred [someplace horrible], then you
can rejoice, as did Job of old, that you get to suffer." Whooo!
